Professional Bio:

I grew up in Michigan and received my Bachelors of Arts in English and Social Studies from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 1991. I also have my Masters in Educational Leadership. I teach language arts and social studies to middle school students. I have also been the homeschool coordinator since 2012.

I love working with middle school students. Most people might cringe at the thought of spending their days with middle school-aged pre-teens and teens, but not me. They are funny, endearing, self-depreciating, silly, serious, independent, needy, moody, inquisitive, insightful, and so many more descriptions. As you can see, your typical middle-school is very complex, which is what makes working with them both exciting and challenging. You never know what is going to happen from day to day! But in the end, getting to know these unique young people is a joy.
