Welcome to Student Support Services. My job is to provide support for our students and staff to ensure all learners have access to an education that enables them to reach their full potential.
A major component of student support services is special education. Special education is the practice of educating students with special educational needs in a way that addresses their individual differences and needs.
Common special educational needs include specific learning disabilities, speech and language issues, developmental delays, autism, traumatic brain injury, medical or physical impairments, hearing or vision difficulties, or other unique medical needs. Students with these kinds of special needs are likely to benefit from additional educational services such accommodations in the way material is presented or assignments are completed, support from additional staff members, support classes such as homework help or tutoring, technology assistance, or services from speech, occupational therapy or physical therapy providers.
If you believe your student needs some extra help or support, please talk about your concerns with the classroom teacher so we can address them.
In addition to student supports, I also oversee state and federal testing and all federal programs for the district.
